August Newsletter
Welcome back to Girl Scouts!! This 2008-2009 membership year is full of
new things: new girl program, new uniforms, new leadership essentials,
new girls, new leaders, and new Pima Neighborhood meetings!
Our neighborhood goal is to make the transition into the new program
smooth and simple and to improve communication within the neighborhood,
schools, and program levels.
This year, in addition to our neighborhood business, we are going to
incorporate various topics into each meeting to help new and
experienced leaders with fresh ideas and resources. We will also have a
sharing/open discussion time for leaders to share service ideas, field
trips, and badge ideas.
Neighborhood Service Team position openings
Our neighborhood needs school organizers for the following schools:
Anasazi, Aztec, and Desert Canyon. The school organizer assists the
neighborhood in the recruitment of leaders and girls. This is as simple
as passing out membership fliers to the teacher mailboxes and holding a
registration afternoon (like at Back to School Night). School
organizers do not need to do background checks on new leaders.
Our neighborhood needs 1 to 2 more volunteers to organize cookie sales.
We have 2 great women who have already volunteered, but we'd love to
give them some help!
We are also looking for 1 or 2 people to help with Fall Product sales.
Mainly, someone who is willing to pick up products and incentives so
that individual troops will not have to drive down to the Council
Office. We're promoting three types of "green" here. Girl Scouts, cash
for gas, and reduction in pollution. J

Want Ad
We are looking for alternate cookie drop off location to avoid
President's Day weekend. This is in response to the requests of the
leaders who would rather not cut their 3-day weekend short to pick up
cookies. Any ideas or leads, please let us know at the neighborhood
meeting.
Website
Diana Laulained-Schein has constructed a new website for the Pima Neighborhood. Please check it out at http://www.geocities.com/pimagsaz. Thank you Diana for all your hard work!
